Twin Cigar Barrel with Green Galuchat

A classy cigar barrel for carrying your favorite cigars to travel with you everywhere. Created for carrying 2 cigars together, this twin cigar barrel is made of Burl wood, decorated with silver and covered with Galuchat leather.

The significance of this inspiration comes in the form of its raw material, Galuchat (stingray). Being one of the toughest leather in the world, historically, the stingray skin was used to embellish the sword-handles and sheaths of Attila, while in China it was traditionally used on Qing dynasty composite bows. Additionally, in 1930’s, every well-to-do houses in Europe would have a stingray leather artifacts in their house as a sign of power.

Rolf von Bueren, an avid burl wood collector for over 40 years, personally travels to Japan to look for rare and beautiful pieces of burl woods – some that he keeps, some that he shares with his collector friends and Lotus Arts de Vivre designs. Burls result in a uniquely patterned wood, which is highly prized for its beauty. It is valued and sought after by artists, furniture makers and sculptors. The "wild grain" in the Burl makes the wood extremely dense and resistant to splitting, which made it valued for bowls, artifacts and sculptures, and is a popular wood in many auction houses across the world.
