Paddling Duck Red Lacquer Handbag

A gorgeously lacquered Duck bag, designed beautifully in contrasting shades of red lacquer and 24K Gold leaf on red lacquer as an antique look. A fiber glass handle lacquered in black is held onto the bag with gold plated sterling silver, with a prayer bead gold leaf lock. The eyes have been studded with turquoise in gold plated sterling silver. The bag has been lined in textile.

Inspired by the flock of Mandarin Ducks paddling around the von Bueren's ponds we honour this beautiful aquatic bird as part of our Animal Handbag Collection. The defining details of this handbag is our Red Lacquer with patina Gold Leaf showcasing the distinctive patterns of the Mandarin Duck complete with natural Turquoise stone eyes. The Black Lacquer, handle inspired by nature's 'Crazy Wood', joins the body with Gold plated Sterling Silver petal design. The opening clasp is a golden Rudraksha bead , spiritually affiliated to our mind and body's health, happiness and prosperity.

From conceptual design to the finished piece, it has taken over 2.5 months to create with over 12 designers and craftsmen involved at various stages.
