Morning Mist and Silver-Lit Vase with Iguana

A striking iguana crowns this sculptural vase in a collaboration between LAdV and GORDON GU. The iguana is hand-moulded by LAdV’s master artisans, capturing every intricate scale and poised movement in meticulous detail before being cast in gold-plated brass with a rich golden finish, while delicate blossoms are rendered in Nickel-plated brass for a luminous accent. Beneath, a crystal-like vase featuring ‘Glacier Crystal’, an engineered resin technology, patented and perfected by GORDON GU. Assembled in Thailand, this piece embodies a cross-cultural exchange of craftsmanship and artistry between both the brands.

The Iguana as a symbol is linked to sun, light, regeneration, and renewal. It is a symbol of good fortune in some cultures. They are patient, determined, and have the ability to blend in with the surroundings. In addition to contentment and gratitude, these brightly coloured reptiles present us with relevant symbolism of acute awareness, deep contemplation and having expectations. 

Over 2 months of were spent to create this piece with over 9 designers and craftsmen involved across the brand’s ateliers in Thailand and China.
