These Scarab-Winged Flamingo Earrings are crafted with a mix of precious stones and rare natural materials. The flamingo’s head and curved neck are set with diamonds and black onyx, while the body is formed in black rhodium-plated sterling silver, highlighted with rose-cut diamonds and pink tourmalines. The wings are made from natural scarab wings, giving a vivid green shimmer, and the legs are created using two flexible silver chains set with black agate beads. The beak and feet are detailed with rose-cut diamonds, and the pins are made in 9K pink gold.
Scarabs are found across ancient cultures and revered by the Egyptians, it symbolised rebirth and renewal. Its naturally iridescent wings—formed without pigment—shift in luminous hues and endure for generations, reflecting nature’s quiet brilliance and timeless transformation. Scarab wings display natural colours that cannot be dyed or replicated. Green symbolises renewal, blue is for protection, while dark stands for strength in mystery, and gold being for eternity. Together, they reflect nature’s quiet intelligence, carrying meanings shaped by time, belief, and transformation. At LAdV, scarab jewellery is shaped by patience and restraint. Wings are ethically collected after their natural life cycle, then hand-sorted, prepared, and set one by one—each wing requiring 12–15 minutes of focused handwork. Their iridescence is never altered, only protected, and every piece takes months to complete, guided by nature’s pace and disciplined craftsmanship.
This piece took 6 craftsmen and designers over 2 months to produce.
