Glass Bowl with Silver Snake

A container crafted from mouth-blown free-form glass and embellished with a sterling silver snake. Versatile in function, the piece may also be used as a candy dish, central napkin holder, tissue holder, or small flower vase.

Mouth-blown glass is a traditional glass-forming technique that involves inflating molten glass into a bubble using a blowpipe or blow tube. Since ancient times, glassblowing has been regarded as the art of shaping decorative glass through the manipulation of molten material, a practice mastered by legendary Japanese glass artist Seiki Torige.

This piece was co-created through an artistic collaboration between Lotus Arts de Vivre and Seiki Torige. While Seiki applied his mastery of glass artistry to form the vessel, Lotus Arts de Vivre carefully crafted the sterling silver embellishment.

Historically, serpents and snakes have symbolised fertility and creative life force. As snakes shed their skin, they are also associated with rebirth, transformation, immortality, and healing.

This design took approximately one and a half months to complete, involving more than seven craftsmen and designers across various stages of production.
