Created from one piece of Burl wood the Happy Monk has Sterling silver head , foot and hand. The embellishments are Maw Sit Sit Jade earrings and the monk is holding prayer beads coated with Gold leaf.
It took eight master craftsmen with a combined production time of 12 weeks to complete the Happy Monk. From imagining its unique design, sculpting its shape, carving the wood, to employing a silver smith, great thought and care has gone into creating this timeless art piece. Each piece will be one of a kind due to the unique shape and size of the raw materials used.
