Our Mexican Abalone Shell collection is also popularly used as a home or office décor on low coffee tables and desks or a nice catch-all dish for your favourite small crystals or jewelry.

Lotus Arts de Vivre sources its Abalone shells from Mexico and the collection includes various designs of Jewelry and bowls. These Abalone Shells are oval shaped with natural imperfections such as grooves, and holes which are respiratory apertures that allow a living Abalone to vent water from its gills. The inner lining is composed of Nacre, also known as Mother of Pearl, which has beautiful iridescent colors and markings. The pastel rainbow colors of the Abalone shell enhance feelings of peace, beauty, compassion, and love. The main commercial sources of these shells started in the early 1900’s, worn by the Kings and Queens of various eras. Popular for their sturdiness and beauty, it was also used to decorate watches, knives, guns, and jewellery.

As a spirit animal, the crab is symbolic of adventure and exploration. In addition to self-protection and defense, crabs symbolize emotions, trust, and the cyclical nature of life. At some point in their lives, crabs dump one shell in exchange for another, symbolizing a point of rebirth in their life cycle.
